Bitdefender Maintains Leadership in AV-Comparatives Business Security Test

Bitdefender GravityZone has once again demonstrated its leadership in independent evaluations, successfully earning the prestigious AV-Comparatives Approved Business Security Product Award for July 2025. This achievement in the latest AV-Comparatives Business Security Test (H1 2025) highlights Bitdefender's exceptionally high protection and notably low false-positive rates. AV-Comparatives placed Bitdefender in the top right corner of their evaluation chart, confirming that it delivered the greatest efficacy with the fewest false positives.

These results stem from an assessment where 17 vendors submitted security products for rigorous testing across three components: the Real-World Protection Test, the Malware Protection Test, and the Performance Test. To qualify for certification, products must achieve at least 90% in both the Real-World Protection Test and Malware Protection Test, while also maintaining a low false positive rate.

Real-World Protection Test (March-June)

The AV-Comparatives Business Security Test simulates real-world conditions with 438 distinct test cases evaluated from March to June 2025. These tests utilize visible and relevant malicious websites and malware that pose real risks to users, including live drive-by exploits that can compromise a user's device simply by visiting a compromised website.

During these evaluations, if malware was not detected and the system became infected, the outcome was categorized as ‘System Compromised.’ Minimizing false positives is equally critical, as they can be resource-intensive for security teams, potentially leading to alert fatigue and overlooking genuine threats.

In the Real-World Protection Test, Bitdefender was the leading solution, blocking 437 out of 438 threats for a 99.8% protection rate while maintaining a low FP count of just 1.

Bitdefender's multilayered security strategy, which includes prevention, protection, detection, and response, powered by the Bitdefender Global Protective Network, ensures minimal disruption to users while maintaining high security.

Malware Protection Test (March)

The Malware Protection Test evaluated the security solution's ability to protect against 1,018 recent malware samples. Any samples not detected by the on-access scanner were executed on the test system. If the product failed to prevent or fully reverse all changes made by malware, it was categorized as a miss.

Bitdefender achieved zero false alarms on common business software while also excelling in non-business software and uncommon files, showcasing its reliability.

Performance Test (June)

The Performance Test assessed the impact of each security solution on system speed. This test simulated a variety of file operations, including copying files and launching applications.

Bitdefender's performance in this area was rated as “Very Fast,” highlighting its low impact on system efficiency—a critical factor for business productivity.

Anti-Tampering Certification

Bitdefender is one of six vendors to pass the AV-Comparatives Anti-Tampering Certification Test for 2025. This certification demonstrates Bitdefender's ability to thwart defense-evasion techniques commonly employed by cybercriminals.

This testing involved simulating privileged user access and attempting to disable core functionality of the security solution. Bitdefender GravityZone consistently passed these tests, demonstrating resilience against various disruption tactics employed by attackers.
